PSD to PNG Converter Online — Free, No Photoshop

Need a PNG from a Photoshop file, but Photoshop is not installed? Open the PSD in freePS, choose the layers you want, and export a transparent PNG directly from your browser.

Fast answer: launch the editor, open or drop in your PSD, leave the right layers visible, then use File → Save → PNG. Your file is parsed locally on your device — it is not uploaded to a server.

How to convert a PSD to PNG in 4 steps

  1. Open the editor. Click the button above to launch the freePS workspace.
  2. Load your PSD. Use File → Open, or drag and drop the .psd file onto the canvas.
  3. Set the visible layers. For a full design, keep the composition as intended. For one asset, hide every layer except the one you need.
  4. Export PNG. Choose File → Save and select PNG. The exported file downloads straight to your device.

Export a single layer as a transparent PNG

This is the job PNG is best at. If you need a logo, icon, product cut-out or UI element from a PSD, isolate it before exporting:

  1. Open the PSD and find the layer in the Layers panel.
  2. Hide the background and every other layer you do not want in the export.
  3. Confirm the checkerboard transparency is visible around your asset.
  4. Export with File → Save → PNG.

That workflow is hard to do with one-click upload converters, because they usually flatten the whole file and give you no control over the layer stack.

PNG vs JPG vs WEBP: which export should you choose?

FormatBest forWatch out for
PNGTransparency, logos, icons, screenshots and crisp UI graphicsFiles can be large for photographs
JPGPhotos and smaller files where transparency is not neededNo transparency; repeated saving reduces quality
WEBPModern websites that need smaller image filesSome older apps and workflows still prefer PNG or JPG

Why convert locally instead of uploading your PSD?

Many converter sites ask you to upload the PSD to their server. That may be fine for a public graphic, but it is a bad default for client work, unreleased product designs or anything under NDA. freePS runs in the browser: the PSD parsing and export happen in your device memory. You get converter convenience without handing the file to a third party.

Local conversion also means there is no queue and no file-size upload wait. Very large PSD files are still limited by your device memory, so a desktop browser is best for heavy files.

Why might the PNG differ from Photoshop?
Complex smart objects, unusual blend modes, adjustment layers or missing fonts may render differently outside Photoshop. Check final production files carefully.
